M.A.N.G.O Teaching Framework

A structured method that supports kids from input to output.

Motivate Curiosity

Focus: Spark interest and build learning motivation

Help students feel anticipation for the topic and form an emotional connection.

Use hook questions; bring in authentic materials/visuals; activate engagement through prediction and imagination.

Students participate actively in dialogue and share their viewpoints.

Absorb Naturally

Focus: Multi-sensory input to build language intuition

Support natural acquisition of vocabulary and structures in context.

Apply TPR, integrated listening–speaking, and contextualized input; use images, video, and realia to create authentic situations.

Students grasp meaning through listening/visual cues without needing translation.

Navigate Meaning

Focus: Guide comprehension and build logical structure

Encourage students to actively explore meaning and language function.

Use Socratic questioning; run small-group discussions; build semantic maps and concept summaries; connect language forms with thinking structures.

Students explain semantic relationships and compare genre/text-type differences.

Generate Expression

Focus: Guide output and support creative expression

Enable students to generate content in their own words.

Use TBLT, story retelling, and pair work; provide scaffolds such as sentence stems to support expression.

Students express ideas independently and use language creatively.

Outreach Beyond

Focus: Extend learning and create real-world connection

Help students use English for authentic communication and cross-cultural understanding.

Organize international exchanges, video projects, and online collaboration; encourage student-created videos/posters/English showcases; guide reflection on language and cultural differences.

Students use English in real-life contexts and demonstrate cultural awareness.
